Owners Michelle and Jed have been in the hospitality business in the Coro for over a decade, where they were the friendly faces behind the bar at a local pub. But, as they say, change is as good as a holiday. 🤙 So, they waved goodbye to the pub life and set their sights on something new and exciting – Hot Waves Cafe, right next to Hot Water Beach, in one of New Zealand's most iconic spots.

Shell, Jed, and their awesome crew are keen to welcome travelers back to New Zealand, sharing their passion for fresh food, good vibes, and a cheeky yarn. On top of that, their walls are covered with stunning local art, and they have a shop in-store that features beautiful handmade trinkets like ceramic mugs, textiles, and New Zealand souvenirs.

Come by and say hello to our resident local cat, Ronald, and his partner in crime, Skid. Pets are welcome, as long as their friendly!

  • Besties and I stayed at Hot Water Beach Air BnB and had scrumptious breakfast at Hot Waves 3 days in a row. Kai was delicious, staff super friendly and lovely ambience in the cafe. Highly recommended.
